Having to pay for overpriced car insurance can dwindle your savings account and force you to make sacrifices. Comparing price quotes is free, only takes a few minutes, and is a good way to tighten up your finances.
There is such a variety of insurers to choose from, and although it’s nice to have a selection, it makes it harder to locate the cheapest rates.
Shopping for lower car insurance rates is a ton of work if you don’t know the fastest way to get free quotes. You can waste a few hours (or days) driving to agents in your area, or you could save time and use the internet to get rates in a matter of minutes.
Many companies participate in a marketplace that allows shoppers to only type in their quote data once, and at least one company provides a quote based on the submitted data. This system prevents you from having to do repetitive form submissions for every car insurance company.

The one downside to doing it this way is buyers cannot specifically choose the companies you want to price. If you prefer to choose specific providers for rate comparison, we have assembled a list of the cheapest car insurance companies in your area. Click here to view list.
Whichever method you choose, make darn sure you compare exactly the same deductibles and coverage limits for every company. If you use different values for each quote it will be impossible to truly determine the lowest rate. Having just a slight variation in insurance coverages may result in large price differences. Just remember that obtaining a wide range of quotes provides better odds of finding the best price.
Properly insuring your vehicles can get expensive, but there could be available discounts that many people don’t even know exist. Most are applied at the time of purchase, but some may not be applied and must be specifically requested before being credited.
As a disclaimer on discounts, many deductions do not apply to all coverage premiums. Some only reduce individual premiums such as comprehensive or collision. So even though they make it sound like it’s possible to get free car insurance, it just doesn’t work that way. But any discount will cut the cost of coverage.
